The holidays have a way of filling our homes quickly. One minute everything is quiet, and the next there are suitcases in the guest room, extra cars in the driveway and everyone asking for the Wi-Fi password.
If you’re expecting guests this season, a little preparation can make their stay more comfortable and give you more time to enjoy having them in your home.
One thing I’ve learned is that a full house has a funny way of revealing the little things we don’t notice every day. Suddenly everyone needs a charger, no one knows which light switch turns on the patio, and the refrigerator is overflowing.
The goal isn’t to make everything perfect. It’s to make everything easier.
A little closet space or empty drawers means their suitcase doesn’t become a piece of bedroom furniture for the week. Fresh towels, an extra charger and a few toiletries are simple touches that make guests feel at home. In the kitchen, clear some refrigerator space before stocking up and keep water, coffee, and snacks within reach.
Here in Desert Mountain, add guests to your gate access list and make sure they know where to park. It makes for a more peaceful arrival than getting a call from the gate!
Ensure your errands are complete beforehand. Stock the groceries, pick up the wine, handle deliveries and schedule vendors before company arrives. The fewer errands waiting, the more time you have to spend with your guests.
A little preparation behind the scenes can make a full house feel effortless, leaving you time to pour a glass of wine, sit down and enjoy that Thanksgiving turkey!
From all of us at SG Concierge, we wish you a very happy holiday season!
